Letters of recommendation

On November 30, 2009, the Department of Business Administration introduced a new system for letters of recommendation, which makes possible a faster and more effective treatment of students' requests of letters of recommendation. 

The most important changement is that letters of recommendation can now be requested directly at the Dean's office, and not any longer at the Chair as before. This procedure holds for all Chairs of the Department of Business Administration. Letters of recommendation from other Departments, for example fom the Department of Economics, have to be requested directly there on your own initiative. In case of letters of recommendation for PhD-programs, the Chairs have to be adressed directly as well.

In general, 3 different types of letters of recommendations are distinguished:

1. Letters of recommendations for exchange students (stays abroad at a affiliated university)
2. Letters of recommendation for freemovers
3. Letters of recommendation for master programs, scholarships, and ESSEC Double Degree

Below you find more detailled information concerning the different letters of recommendation and the different procedures of application.

Please keep in mind that the editing of a letter of recommendation takes at least 14 days. Consequently, start planning your requests of letters of recommendation in advance in order to avoid time conflicts with your closing dates of applications. In this regard, please inform us about any closing dates of application or filing.
